Femminello lemon from Calabria
The Femminello lemon is the most appreciated variety of lemon by citrus growers, for its easy adaptability to the various cultivation areas and for the constant and abundant production, as well as for the high organoleptic characteristics of the fruits.
The fruit is not seedless, it is characterized by an average acid flesh rich in juice, a yellow color when fully ripe, elliptical shape, medium to large size (average 130gr) and an excellent aroma. The essence of the common Femminello lemon is considered of high value worldwide.
The plant also flourishes constantly throughout the year, allowing it to have first-flowering fruits (“promofiore”) from January to May and summer lemons (“verdelli”) during the summer.
The successive cultivars of femminiello are “Zagara Bianca”, “Comune” and “2kr”.
