Pink grapefruit
Pink grapefruit is a citrus fruit, similar to an orange, with a lighter and smoother peel, and the flesh varies between pink and red. Its taste is sour, bitter and sweet.
Pink grapefruit comes from a spontaneous mutation of the yellow grapefruit. Originally, it was slightly different from the current one; it was less pigmented, with thicker skin and less sugary flesh; over time, through careful selection of different varieties of pink grapefruit, the Star Ruby cultivar proved to be the most important, thanks to the qualities of its fruit.
Like all grapefruits, this one is rich in nutrients, antioxidants and fibre, making it one of the healthiest citrus fruits for our body.
Not only the fruit itself brings health benefits but also its juice, essential oil and seed extract can be used for therapeutic purposes.
