Calabria Green Lemon
The green lemon is nothing more than a lemon whose production comes from the summer flowering of the Lemon Femminello. Through the special technique of “forcing”, the plant is pushed to bloom again during the summer period, the flowers born in this period will produce lemons that will be harvested about 12 months later.
The fruit, the so-called green lemon of Calabria, not without seeds, is characterized by the medium acidic pulp and rich in juice, due to the high temperatures the color remains green or light yellow, despite the internal maturity of the fruit, elliptical shape, high size (average 230g) and an excellent scent.
Green lemons are the only type of lemon produced in Italy available in the summer.
