Licorice root sticks
Licorice, glychyrriza glabra, is a spontaneously growing plant very present on the flourishing soils of Calabria.
The characteristics of the soil and the harvesting methods allow the highly biological origin of the product because it is not subject to any type of treatment.
After being extracted from the underground, the root is cleaned from the earth and cut to final size.
The licorice root sticks thus obtained are then packaged and sent.
Numerous properties are attributed to licorice – more specifically, to its root and its extracts – among which the anti-inflammatory, anti-ulcer and expectorant ones stand out.
For this reason it is used in homeopathic and “popular” medicine. In folk medicine, licorice is also used as a remedy for constipation, inflammation of the gastrointestinal tract and urinary tract and to promote urination and milk production, as well as being used in the treatment of appendicitis and even epilepsy.
Externally, however, licorice is exploited by folk medicine to treat dermatoses.
Licorice, as a homeopathic remedy, is indicated for the treatment of constipation, sluggish bowel, throat irritation and dry cough.
The dose of remedy to be taken may vary according to the homeopathic dilution used.
